“The relationship between queerness and photography is complex because whereas one aspires to ambiguity, the other, sometimes despite the maker’s intentions, is about fixedness and posterity. But the tension there is, and always will be, a generative one. Youth on camera is always youth in time. Susan Sontag fixated on photography’s relationship to death. But, for once, this isn’t queerness on camera that’s about death. D’Ingeo is interested in being alive and queer without the heavy responsibility of political doctrine, carrying a sword for other people or transmuting your experience into something digestible.”
- Sean Burns excerpt from ‘On The Beach’

Born in 1994, d’Ingeo is an Italian photographer and filmmaker based in London. They graduated from a Master’s Degree in Photography at London College of Communication (UAL) in 2017. Their practice of vernacular photography focuses on the queer experience. Their work has featured in publications such as i-D, Vice and Paper magazine amongst others. Representing a departure from their renowned lively nightlife shots, their lens focuses on a more serene and tender collection of archived images taken in Southern Italy with friends. The hardback book is a beautifully sensitive meditation on the unique intimacies of queer friendship. As well as the photographs there are accompanying essays by Sean Burns, Giosuè Prezioso and an interview by Gilda Bruno. Book design by John Philip Sage.
